Safe-T-Online publishes individual Member Information Pages for all listed websites. These pages provide
current information about every member of Safe-T-Online.com. All members have agreed
to the "10-Point Consumer Undertaking" shown below.
Some Simple Rules For Safe Online Shopping
- Never purchase from a website that doesn't display full contact information.
- Never give out personal information except on "secure pages" (where the URL starts "https://..." - make sure that "s" is showing at the end of "http")
- Take time to read and understand guarantees offered on a web site (whether financial or otherwise)
- Always be sure there are clear terms of use, disclaimers and/or privacy policies easily located on the site.
- If it sounds too good to be true it probably is... avoid web sites with outrageous promises.
- Do not visit websites you find from receiving spam. Spam=Scam! Take the Boulder Pledge (see below)
The Boulder Pledge...
"Under no circumstances will I ever purchase anything offered to me as the result of an unsolicited email message. Nor will I forward chain letters, petitions, mass mailings, or virus warnings to large numbers of others. This is my contribution to the survival of the online community."
"10 Point Consumer Undertaking" to which ALL Members of Safe-T-Online agree.
- We are committed to providing top quality customer service and support and undertake to exhibit only the highest degree of professionalism in all dealings with our customers and prospective customers.
- We provide complete contact information on our web site(s).
- We provide only secure and industry-accepted payment options on our web site(s) for payment by accredited online processors, credit card, bank debit card
or e-check.
- We provide an easily-accessible Privacy Statement clearly informing all customers of exactly what use is made of visitor information.
- We provide an easily-accessible "Terms and Conditions" or "Conditions of Use" statement.
- We do not engage in, or in any way encourage, the practice of sending unsolicited bulk email (spam).
- We undertake to display any guarantees unambiguously in writing, and in an obvious location.
- We do not participate in the sale or distribution of any personal information of site visitors or customers to third parties.
- We do not participate in any illegal activities, or any violation of intellectual property rights.
- We do not promote pornography, nudity, sexually explicit material of any kind, hard-core profanity or violence.
At Safe-T-Online, we do not believe that scams are the exclusive domain of the
seller! Far too often, merchants are ripped off by dishonest buyers. We therefore recommend that, as a consumer, you adhere to your own...
We encourage consumers to embrace this code, since a transaction is only fair when both parties uphold the principle of fair play. Safe-T-Online will support its members who are victims of a clear breach of any part of this consumer code of ethics.
- Consumers should carefully read ALL parts of the merchant's website/auctions before purchasing any products/services, in order to be
totally aware of any aspects and possible consequences involved in the transaction.
- Consumers should not at any time defame or/and libel, post and/or publish abusive content with the intent of deliberately attacking a merchant reputation.
- Consumers should not initiate a Credit Card dispute if they have received what
is stated on the merchant's website/auction. In case of services or digital
goods, if the merchant offers no refund on the web site or auction, the it is unethical to
demand your money back just because you have changed your mind, so, think before you buy!
- Consumers should try to work pro-actively together with the merchant, before initiating any dispute.
Give the merchant a chance to fix any mistake. Sending a support request or complaining about a product/service and
expecting to get an answer or/and a solution within minutes is not realistic.
Even internet merchants have the right to time with their families!
- Consumers should provide correct personal information when ordering, and
advise the merchant of any changes of their contact information.
